Viktor Gyokeres scores first Arsenal goal in pre-season win against Athletic Club

Viktor Gyokeres wasted no time making an impact for Arsenal, scoring his first goal for the club during a pre-season friendly against Athletic Club.

Arsenal fans obtained their first glimpse of the 27-year-old’s famous mask celebration after he opened the scoring in their 3-0 friendly win against Athletic.

Gyokeres was in the right place at the right time to latch on to fellow new signing Martin Zubimendi’s inch-perfect in-swinging cross.

The Sweden international will doubtless be hoping this will be the first of many as Arsenal aim to terminate their five-year trophy drought.

Mikel Arteta’s side will kick off their 2025-26 Premier League campaign with a trip to Ruben Amorim’s new-look Man United on Sunday, August 17th.
