Vicario calls on Spurs to 'do it again' in search for second slice of European silverware

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is insistent his teammates are ready to 'taste the feeling' of success in Europe once more ahead of Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup clash with Champions League winners PSG in Udine.

The Italian stopper was in between the sticks when Tottenham Hotspur beat Manchester United 1-0 in the Europa League final back in May.

It was Spurs' first major trophy in 17 years after their League Cup triumph in 2008, and Vicario has challenged the side to repeat the trick against the Parisiens.

Speaking to the media ahead of the game, he remarked: "Of course, we set the tone.

We want to do it again, we tasted the feeling and this feeling is amazing.

We have an opportunity tomorrow in a European final.

"We earned the right to play against PSG - football and sports is about winning and losing.

It's hard, you are not a magician and you sometimes can't find the receipt (Sic) on how to win.

"It's up to us to believe in something, we have to do it together.

We have to follow very strictly the instructions of the manager.

We fully believe in Thomas (Frank) and in how we can improve as a collective.

"It can set the tone again if we want to be successful.

A transfer to the Premier League could be in the pipeline, and the Spurs keeper hopes the situation will be sorted soon.

The 28-year-old added: "I knew about it that he is not in the squad.

He is my captain in the national team and I have just good feelings and a good relationship with him.

It is up to him and his club to find the best way possible for his future.

I wish him all the best.

"The keeper came under fire last season after making some costly errors, and he confessed that Frank is working with him to diversify his distribution.

He explained: "Something has changed.

Of course I need to be really looking to read the situation that is presented in front of me.

Sometimes it is to play short, sometimes long.

It is a different approach that I am used to from the last two seasons, but the important thing is what is important for the team and achieve a good result.
