Manchester United defender Luke Shaw admits he believes he "dropped short" former manager Erik ten Hag.
Now in charge of Bayer Leverkusen, Ten Hag was sacked by United last season before Christmas and replaced by Ruben Amorim.
Speaking with The Athletic, Shaw stated: "I sensed a little that I dropped short Erik with all the injuries and everything.
"I wasn't there for him towards the terminate and it wasn't nice.
Much of last season, I just sensed like I disappointed many people in the club and on the team because I was constantly hurt.
"Maybe that wasn't the case in reality, but in my lead it was really difficult.
I accused myself a lot.
It was really tough.
I don't want to move too much into detail over it.
"Luke Shaw's injuriesBetopickThe 2024/25 season was a nightmare campaign for Shaw, who was able to play just 12 matches due to injury issues.
The left-support admits that it's one he's keen to put behind him.
"I think last season is one you would rather overlook," Shaw added.
"I've possessed injuries before, but last season it was another kind of injury.
It was terrible.
"It started with the doctor and I've never possessed a medical injury in my life before, so I wasn't used to it.
It was a completely different kind of rehabilitation and such.
Things just kept happening.
