Heerenveen sign Czech youth international Vaclav Sejk on loan from Sparta Prague

Eredivisie outfit sc Heerenveen have signed Sparta Prague striker Vaclav Sejk on loan for the 2025/26 season, sources close to the club have confirmed.

Heerenveen lost three strikers during the current transfer window.

Ion Nicolaescu left for Maccabi Tel Aviv, Dimitris Rallis joined Polish side Jagiellonia Bialystok, and Milos Lukovic returned to Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg after being loaned out last season.

The Frisian Eredivisie club acquired Surinamese international Dylan Vente from Hibernian earlier this summer, who cost Heerenveen around €1 million and scored 14 goals in 31 appearances for PEC Zwolle during the previous season.

Now, Vaclav Sejk, a 36-time Czech U21 international, will join Heerenveen on loan from Czech giants Sparta Prague, according to the reliable Leeuwarder Courant.

Heerenveen have contained an option to purchase Sejk after the coming season.

The Czech striker has joined the first team for Saturday's friendly game in London against Queens Park Rangers.

It will be the sixth consecutive loan spell for Sejk, who also played for FK Teplice, FK Jablonec, Dutch side Roda JC, Polish side Zaglebie Lubin, and Portuguese Primeira Liga outfit Famalicao.

Sejk was active at last summer's Under-21 European Championships with the Czech Republic.

In Slovakia, Sejk scored in the Czech Republic's 2-0 win over Slovenia and provided one assist in the 3-1 loss to eventual champions England.
