FC Groningen confirmed on Wednesday that the club have terminated the contract of striker Kevin van Veen.
The 34-year-old Van Veen joined FC Groningen in 2023 after completing a move from Scottish outfit Motherwell, where Van Veen scored 40 goals in 83 appearances.
In Groningen, Van Veen started as the club's main striker in the Dutch second tier, but lost the position in his first six months to Thom van Bergen and Romano Postema.
After Van Veen scored five goals in 14 league games, Groningen let the striker leave on loan to Kilmarnock and St.
Mirren, where he dropped short to score a single goal.
In October last year, Van Veen showed up in court in Glasgow on suspicion of domestic violence against his ex-partner.
The court case caused St.
Mirren to terminate Van Veen's loan contract.
Van Veen himself has always refused any allegations against him.
