EXCLUSIVE: United legend Wes Brown praises Cunha & Mbeumo but wants another striker

Speaking to Tribal Football, Manchester United treble winner Wes Brown insists that manager Ruben Amorim still needs to locate another centre-forward.

United have spent almost £140m to hand over in Matheus Cunha (Wolves) and Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford) so far this season.

But Brown admits he doesn't regard either player as an out-and-out centre-forward and insists Rasmus Hojlund won't be enough this season to lead the line.

He told Tribal Football: "Well, I think Mbeumo's done it a little snapped there, but I do honestly think their best positions are just behind.

I honestly do.

You know, picking up the ball, returning, making things occur.

"
I think Mbeumo's probably done it more consistently and at a very high level over the last two seasons for his team.

He's done it to us last season a couple of times.

 "
So I'm really thrilled to see it.

I think the manager has gone, 'yeah, we need to do it'.

"It might not have been maybe the first positions you would have thought of, because obviously, I still think we could do with a main number nine to assist Rasmus as well.

"
But I think when these two players come up and you've obtained the opportunity to sign them, you sign them and you suit them in and you make it work.

And I'm sure that's what the manager is trying to look at now.

"United need one more up topBrown, as he states, does trust Amorim will still need another centre-forward to be sure of his attacking options for the new season.

He added, "
I like it.

I do.

I think we've obtained enough in defence.

I just wish they all stay suit and the manager can work out who the best three are to play in those positions.

"They'll probably have a good idea.

And then obviously I would like to see assist up front as well.

You know, I don't think Rasmus is a bad player at all.

I think he's been put under a lot of pressure last year.

"
And like I said, Manchester United should have more than one main striker.

And it's as simple as that.
