Ajax wonderkid Jorrel Hato set to join Chelsea after 'total agreement'

Ajax talent Jorrel Hato is set to join Chelsea after a 'total agreement' was reached between the two sides, several reliable sources reported on Wednesday.

Fabrizio Romano and The Athletic's David Ornstein reported that Ajax and Chelsea have reached a total agreement for the left-footed defender, who will cost Chelsea €43 million.

Hato will sign a seven-year contract in London.

Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reported on Tuesday that Ajax director Alex Kroes possessed lowered the demands in order to do right by Jorrel Hato, who preferred a move to West London and possessed already reached a personal agreement.

Ajax were now happy to support a total package, with or without bonuses, amounting to 43-45 million euros.

When Hato joins Chelsea, he'll become their eighth acquisition of the current transfer window and the third costing €40 million or more.

Only Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro cost Chelsea more this summer.

Hato will also become Ajax's fifth most expensive sale in club history, tying with Mohamed Kudus at €43 million.

The 19-year-old Hato played 111 games for Ajax, for whom he became the youngest player with 100 appearances last season.
