AGF-profile suprisingly waves goodbye to Danish Superliga to join Djurgarden

Swedish outfit Djurgardens IF have signed the Icelandic international midfielder from AGF, Mikael Anderson, on a four-year contract.

"Mikael has been a player who has made his mark in AGF, and we have been there and seen him in a couple of games during the spring.

We knew in advance that he was an attractive player, and when it became clear that there was a possible interest from Mikael, a dialogue was initiated at the turn of May/June.

"
"Europe could have been a natural step for him, but we understood that there was an interest in coming to Djurgarden.

It is clear that he has had a good mentor in Felix Beijmo, who has spoken warmly of Djurgården"
, says Djurgardens sports director Bosse Andersson.

Mikael Anderson returned to the club where he spent his childhood and youth, AGF, in the summer of 2021 from FC Midtjylland.

Since returning to AGF, he has played 121 games for AGF scoring 18 goals and providing just as many assists.

Now he will continue his career at Djurgården, who are currently taking a short summer break in the Allsvenskan, which resumes on 30 June.
